EAR CARE ADVICE

Pre-removal

​IF YOU HAVE A PERFORATED EARDRUM, PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR ADVICE FIRST.

• To ensure the wax is soft please use olive oil (Earol spray or Cl-ear spray) every night for a week (minimum) before microsuction.

• Tilt head

• Place a couple of drops/sprays of Earol in the ear.

• Leave head tilted for 15 mins to allow the oil to get beyond the wax and work to soften.

• Repeat in the other ear if applicable.                                                                                       

• Please DO NOT put cotton wool in your ears to prevent the oil coming out as this will just absorb the oil.

Aftercare

• ​Once wax is removed, please keep your ears dry for a minimum of 24 hours.

• It can be helpful to use a cotton wool ball with some petroleum jelly on in the entrance to the ear when showering.

• If you notice any discomfort, pain, discharge, swelling, odour or disruption to your hearing following the procedure, please seek medical advice from your GP.
